Frequently Asked Question

DJM-2000 - USB Audio Interface

  • Q: Can the DJM-2000 be used as a sound device?
A: Yes. Set the sound setting on the computer to the DJM-2000. Up to 4 sets of audio signals can be input to the DJM-2000 using an ASIO driver.
  • Q: Is it possible to connect the DJM-2000 and computer, and record the sound played on the DJM-2000?
A: Yes. Set the sound on the computer to the DJM-2000. The DJM-2000’s sound can be output by using an ASIO driver.
  • Q: What is "ASIO"?
A: Audio Stream Input/Output: An ASIO audio device driver interface. ASIO is a protocol established by Steinberg of Germany as an application API for audio signal input/output, and is the de facto industry standard. Mac OS X's Core Audio is considered equivalent technology. There are sound drivers in Windows and MAC operating systems, but ASIO provides lower delay, higher synchronicity and higher throughput. The sound drivers provided with conventional operating systems are not designed for multi-channel input (over two channels), so multi-channel inputs for channels over two are required.
  • Q: Can sound played with iTunes be input to the DJM-2000?
A: Yes. Set the sound setting on the computer to the DJM-2000. For Windows, the signals are input to the DJM-2000's channel 1. The sound cannot be input to other channels. For Mac, channels 1,2, 3 or 4 can be specified at the speaker settings under audio settings in the environmental settings. * Not usable simultaneously with ASIO.
  • Q: What are the audio interface function's specs?
A: ASIO: Sampling frequency - 44.1 k/48 kHz, bit depth - 16/24 bits. A maximum of 4 sets of audio signals can be input to the DJM-2000. DirectX: Sampling frequency - 44.1 kHz, bit depth - 16 bits. Only 1 set of audio signals can be input to the DJM-2000. ASIO: Sampling frequency - 44.1 k/48 kHz, bit depth - 16/24 bits. A maximum of 4 sets of audio signals can be input to the DJM-2000.
  • Q: Can other sound cards and USB audio devices be used simultaneously?
A: We cannot guarantee normal operation in this case. We strongly recommend connecting only this mixer directly to the computer’s USB port.
